Greencities and S-Moving, from Wednesday with the keys to a new management of the territories

Starting tomorrow, Malaga will be the host of more than fifty Spanish cities and municipalities that will meet in the 2023 edition of the Greencities, Intelligence and Urban Sustainability, and S-Moving, Intelligent and Sustainable Mobility forums, which will take place until Thursday the 21st at FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga). Representatives from capitals such as Madrid, Segovia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Almería and Santander, the guest city of this edition, will share their initiatives and notable projects in the field of urban management and sustainable, intelligent and connected mobility.

Along with this, within the framework of Greencities and S-Moving tomorrow the ‘III Meeting of Urban Leaders’, with the participation of more than thirty mayors and deputy mayors who will address the milestones that will mark the agenda of the new legislature in terms of intelligent and connected management. Specifically, this meeting will allow councilors to analyze the cohesion of innovation ecosystems through multigovernance. Likewise, there will be ‘II Meeting of Urban Technicians’ that will focus on the role of data and artificial intelligence in the new municipal management.

It should be noted that these activities have the support for yet another year of Red Innpulso and RECI (Spanish Network of Smart Cities), references for the establishment of a common urban agenda in terms of sustainability and application of technology at the service of citizens.

More than 250 reference companies and entities

In the business section, they will be more than 250 companies and entities represented. A hundred of them will be present in the exhibition area to present cutting-edge products and services in citizen security, mobility, data intelligence, waste management, decarbonization initiatives or tools to monitor low-emission zones, among others. Thus, it is worth highlighting the alliance with the technological association AMETIC, with the Smart City Cluster and the participation of leading companies such as Telefónica, Repsol, Ayesa, CaixaBank, Endesa X or i4Trust, the collaboration program around FIWARE and iSHARE technologies for the creation of data spaces.

Besides, Greencities and S-Moving will promote entrepreneurship and innovation through the second edition of the ‘Open Call for Startups’, which this year has called for projects related to the development and improvement of Low Emission Zones (ZBE). The winning startup will be announced on the 21st during the events.

In total, there will be fifteen startups participating in both the content program and the exhibition area to show pioneering and disruptive projects around sustainable mobility and smart cities. In addition, the Finnova Foundation delivers the Startup Europe Awards within the framework of Greencities and S-Moving, an initiative promoted by the European Commission, launched by said foundation in collaboration with Startup Europe.

Specialized presentations and more than 200 experts

The events have a wide content program that will be developed in the spaces Urban Arena, Mobility Arena, Sustainability Room -which hosts the sixth edition of the Circular Economy Forum- or the aforementioned City Speakers. Together they will bring together a total of 40 thematic panels in which more than 200 experts will address current topics, such as decarbonization, low-emission zones, artificial intelligence in the management of smart cities, the carbon footprint, waste management or renewable fuels in the energy transition, among others.

In addition, within the framework of Greencities and S-Moving, activities, meetings and calls for entities such as Segittur, Turismo Costa del Sol, Red Innpulso, COTEC, Finnova, National Digital Content Pole, Smart City Cluster, Technological Atlas, Telefónica, will be developed. ANEPMA, Gaia X Spain and the Fiware Foundation.

It is worth mentioning that there will be at least 14 countries represented among speakers, companies and registered professionals, in the case of Germany, Belgium, Bolivia, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom or Romania.

Greencities and S-Moving will take place at FYCMA on Wednesday 20 September from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday 21. This year it coincides with the celebration of the European Week of Mobility promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge from September 16 to 22.

Both forums are organized by FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga), of the Málaga City Council. Greencities is co-organized by Ametic. In addition, Smart City Cluster acts as a Strategic Partner. Telefónica is a Premium Partner. The Ministries of Economy, Finance and European Funds, through the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency (IDEA); of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing, and Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy of the Junta de Andalucía, together with i4Trust (collaboration program around FIWARE and iSHARE technologies for the creation of data spaces) and Repsol are Golden Partners. For their part, Ayesa, CaixaBank, Endesa X, the University of Málaga (UMA) and the municipal companies Emasa, Limpieza de Málaga and Parque Cementerio de Málaga are Silver Partners.
