A research group from the University of Jaén has analyzed how to improve the training of engineering students in intelligent systems and has discovered which areas should be promoted on the Andalusian campuses, to improve the preparation of electrical engineering, computer science, electronics and telecommunications students. in this fundamental discipline for the digitalization of society.

Furthermore, it must promote university-industry-society collaboration to address the demands of intelligent systems engineering and adapt subjects to the needs of students; provide continuous training for teachers through teams of engineers from the industrial and business sector, promoting synergy between the professional world; plan and resolve proposals, training initiatives and results within a maximum period of 6 months, with at least 2 meetings per academic year, and streamline administrative and regulatory processes that hinder the effective resolution of content solutions and curricular adaptation, eliminating tedious protocols and complex administrative systems.

In terms of macro and micro changes in the university educational system that can facilitate the strategies of implementation of Smart Cities and Territories in a globalized world, based on the 2030-2050 Agenda and the SDGs, proposals and developments were presented. These focus mainly on promoting training in the field of intelligent systems, promoting multidisciplinary approaches in the engineering branches of universities.

Areas that require improvements and refinement of study plans and subject content include training in Sensors, Internet of Things, smart networks, smart cities, Artificial Intelligence and technological adaptation to address climate change in all engineering degrees. .

What has been analyzed in this study about automatic training

The investigation toanalyzes different dimensions within the study plans of the universities of Andalusiaspecifically, in the degrees of electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, telecommunications, among others, with the main objective of studying engineering education in Andalusia and the current need to promote digital, sustainable and resilient development in these areas.

For the research, business reports and trends for 2030 were taken into account, as well as the sustainable development goals (SDGs). 2,309 official subjects from 66 degrees, taught in 9 Andalusian universities, were analyzed and training in intelligent systems, sensors, smart cities, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, among others, was evaluated in the training programs of the latest courses.

The findings obtained will serve as a basis for the development of future study plans, improvement and adaptation of teaching guides and alignment with technological and engineering trends, endorsed by the most prestigious technology consultancies worldwide. Based on the results obtained, universities will be able to strengthen their study plans and adapt them to new times and market trends.
